A pictorial retrospective on six decades of creativity by an Honorary Life Member of the Philadelphia Water Color Society. Elizabeth Ayars Nesbitt paints landscapes, florals, and still lifes, concerning herself mostly with the “lost and found” of a composition, from the impressionist’s quality to a strong focus on detail. When deciding to paint a certain subject, she takes inspiration from the strong sense of values – the way the light plays off a shape and how the lights and darks interact. She uses photographs for the recording of a moment in time, but then strives to give significance and purpose to the image, creating the composition to enhance it.
